Giving opinions about college life

Hey! this is a poll I answered a few days ago. Check it out!

1. How do you like your university?
It's a very nice place to study, full of technology and excellent teachers.

2. How many subject are you taking this semester?
I'm taking 6 subjects this semester

3. What is your major? Why did you choose your major? Do you have any regrets?
Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications mention. I chose that major because I need a strong base for the future, and also I want to try my luck in the music industry, so if my main plan fails, i'll have a good job assured.

4. Are there some professors that you can learn from more easily than others? What are the qualities that make you want to study for a certain professor? Who is your favorite teacher?
Yes, there are. I think that the way that they teach you is the key, also their enthusiasm at the teaching time. Those are the facts that determine the interest of the college student. I really don't have a favorite teacher, but i admire and respect some of them.

5. How did you decide which college to attend?
I had to choose between LUZ and URBE, and at the time I got a scholarship for URBE, so i took Electronics Engineering.

6. What are three big differences between your college life so far and your high school days?
Harder subjects, new people every trimester and more freedom.

7. Are you more independent from your parents now than you were in high school?
Of course, many things have changed but I still have some dependance.

8. What is the most difficult class you have taken so far?
Circuits and Networks II

9. Are you a member of any student groups? Which ones? What do you do? Are you satisfied with what's happening with your group(s)?
Nope.

10. What are the top three changes you would like to see happen at your university?
The return of the semester system, modifications on the hair rules and more green areas.

11. What are the top three things you hope to get out of (get as a result of) your university days?
An excellent major, friends and partners for life, and a big amount of good memories.

Well, hoping to get some comments about this post :)
See ya!

Technology and Gadgets

I'll start this post by defining "technology" and "gadgets" for a better understanding of the topic.

In general technology is the relationship that society has with its tools and crafts, and to what extent society can control its environment. The Merriam-Webster dictionary offers a definition of the term: "the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area" and "a capability given by the practical application of knowledge".

A gadget is a small technological object (such as a device or an appliance) that has a particular function, but is often thought of as a novelty. Gadgets are invariably considered to be more unusually or cleverly designed than normal technology at the time of their invention. Gadgets are sometimes also referred to as gizmos.

I consider that technology is very important in our lives, because it makes everything easier. Without it, we wouldn't be able to do the most of the things that we usually do. Technology can be found anywhere, from Caracas to Beijing.

I have many gadgets and I spend a lot of time using them. I have a 30 GB Ipod video, a Toshiba A-100 laptop, a Nokia 6300 cellphone and a HP 49G Graphing calculator.

About beauty

Beauty is one of the most discussed topics in this world. Some people might say that it's not important as well some others might think the opposite.

In my opinion, I can understand both sides and take the positive part of each one. People might say that if you look only into the external beauty you'll be a shallow person, but, isn't your external appearance what gets others' attention?

Now, others might say that by looking into the personality you'll find out who is really who. I agree with that point of view, but I think it's very hard for most of us to just look that side of people, and that's a fact that we can't deny.

So, in conclusion I can synthesize my thoughts with this phrase: Beauty gets the attention, but personality gets the heart.

It's important to say that I don't define beauty as being like a model or something like that. It's just being comfortable with yourself and your inside, taking some care on your appearance.

My new classmates

She's Victoria Valbuena AKA Vicky :) She's a very nice person. We have been friends for more than a year. I met her at URBE because we have many friends in common. She's not so tall ;), she has black hair, brown eyes and a pretty nice smile. She's also very funny and outgoing.

She's Eymi Adrianza. I met her on the first day of this subject. She has a great personality and she's very talkative. She has dark brown long hair, brown eyes, and she's medium-tall.

My Meme

What were you doing 10 years ago?
It was 1998, so I was on elementary school. I really don't remember too much about what I was doing, but I guess I was going to school and playing video games or with toys, like any regular kid.

5 things you have to do today:
Today, I have to study hard because tomorrow I'll have two important evaluations. By the way, I'll stay all day long at the university. I'll probably lunch in the afternoon and by the night I'll take a shower and dinner. Then, I'll finally sleep.

I love Pringles, Doritos, Marilu cookies (the vanilla ones) and
Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
I would buy a big property in a very exclusive neighborhood and a very expensive car. I would buy a house and a car for my parents, and what my brother or my sister would ask me.

Three of my bad habits:

Describing myself

Well, I'll try to describe myself. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. I'm a tall and slim person. I like to dress simple, I'm not into local fashion or the "Bacanitos" style, I prefer to dress my own way. I really don't use too much accesories, that's part of my relaxed style. I almost never wear sunglasses, but I love to wear caps.

Hey!

*Note: this blog is being used for my level 6 english practice

Hey, what's up? my name is Cesar Rondon. I'm 18 years old and I'm studying electronics engineering at URBE. I was born in Maracaibo but I live in Cabimas. I'm in level 6 of URBE ESL Program. My favorite subjects are Circuits and English.

Music is my life. I'm a part-time musician and composer. I'm in charge of the bass and the backup vocals in a band called Takicardia. I also like to go out, spend some time on the pc, watch tv, read books or magazines, write, play tennis or soccer and some other things that I might be forbidding (:

I don't like reggaeton, the cruelty against animals, the war and other things that hurt the world slowly.

My dream is to be all that I can be in this life. Besides my career, I would like to take the music seriously. Maybe that's one of my biggest dreams: to be successful with my band and take the music as my job. Anyway, I'll probably look for a job after I graduate, because that could give me a support overall.

About english, I love to learn new languages. I also speak a little bit of Italian, but I'm better with English. I've been practicing since I was a kid because my father lived almost a year in Boston. Right now, my english is not perfect but I hope that I can improve it.

Well, I'll post a new entry soon. See ya!
